With us you will surf the best waves for the day no matter where they are located in the Peniche area. If you think you are ready to surf in the best spots including shallow reef breaks… this is the level for you.

Peniche offers a great variety of waves, all of which work under specific conditions. Some waves function best at either high or low tide, whilst others with either north or south wind, but most importantly, some waves are more crowded than others.

This package was designed for surfers that don't want to waste time searching for the perfect wave. You don't have to worry about a thing: with our local knowledge and experience we can take you directly to the main spot.

Everyday you will have a local surf guide with a vehicle, to transport you to the best surf spot at the best time. Full info on where to find the best restaurants, local shops and bars.

We can arrange a visit to the local shaper if you want a new board or are in need of major repairs.

If you prefer to surf on your own and only need a place to sleep and surf equipment, we've got the perfect pack for you! Levels - What level should I take?

Beginner surf camp

Ready to learn how to catch waves and surf in Peniche! No place to be ashamed, here everybody is a beginner.

You’ll share with everybody your daily progress surfing in a truly friendly and fun environment. Our certified surf instructors guarantee that in 5 days you’ll be surfing.

You will learn all the safety measures necessary to the practice safely this wonderful sport, the sea cycle, tides, currents, rips, weather, bottoms, etc., all the requisites for your near future free surf...

Come surf with us in Baleal.

All our surf instructors are certified and a al surf equipment is included during class time (Board, Wetsuit, Vest/Lycra and Leach).

We recommend 2 weeks surf camp for best results.

Here is the beginner surf course program:

• Basic knowledge of surfing equipment and Peniche surfing geography
• Recognition of the beaches and currents
• Wave shapes and approaches
• Safety rules
• Paddling techniques
• Sitting on and turning the board
• The "duck-dive" or "eskimo-roll"(diving through the waves with the board)
• Getting to your feet – Standing up Surfing broken waves
• Surf history
• Priority rules
• Learn how a surfboard is made
• Position on the line up to catch unbroken waves
• Surf the green waves – bottom turn
• Advanced manoeuvres
• Class championship: understand how a surf championship works and be part of one. (This activity will take place if there are enough participants in a class)

Surf clinic for intermediates

Our team of surf instructors in Baleal (all certified and experienced surfers) will evaluate your skills and supervise your training, advising or correcting whatever is necessary to improve your surf. You will rapidly improve and develop your surf learning new tricks.

This level we'll help you perfect your style and work on all the "bad habits" acquired through out your free surfing days.

To be in this group you don't need to be world champion, you just need to know the basics.We developed this advanced group because many people came to us and had surfed sometime before and don't want to go through all the basics again.

The focus of this group is on your individual surfing skills. As you learn how to take off on a wave and start to develop your own style, your specific surf problems and bad habits can be pointed out to you immediately so that you develop fast and properly through individual advice. Our weekly video analysis sessions are invaluable at this stage.

This courses take place at the same beaches and schedules as level 1 courses. ALL SURF EQUIPMENT INCLUDED (Board, Wetsuit, Vest/Lycra and Leach).

• Brief surfer diagnose

• Paddling and turning for the wave techniques (tricks and details)
• Priority rules (review)
• How a surfboard works
• Distinguish types of waves and which surf you must apply on each one
• The “Bottom turn” and its importance for wave riding success

Weather and swell conditions

The swells that hit the Portuguese coast in thewinter are bigger and stronger than usual. The waves that ar flat during summertime, due to lack of swell, wake up for the delight of surfers.

Spots like Super Tubes and Molhe Leste on the south coast, Prainha, Cerros and Lagido on the north coast become the main attraction for surfers.

Peniche Surf Camp is proud of our large variety of surfboards. We have more than 150 boards to choose from, in all shapes and sizes, meaning that you will have the opportunity not only to surf with the right surfboard for your level but also to try other types of surfboards.

From Malibu learning surfboard to several types of short boards for the more experienced ones. A chance to find out which one works better with you.

Our wetsuits are Rip Curl! We have more than 250 to choose from, in all sizes, for children, men and women.

Rip Curl is one of the best wetsuit manufactures in the world and surfers like Tom Curren, Mick Fanning and others.

Rip Curl wetsuits incorporate Elastomax in the upper body part to give you maximum liberty of movements. You won't feel like you are trapped in your wetsuit.

Video correction

Twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) the classes are filmed and we organize a video session in the surf camp, usually followed by a barbecue. An excellent opportunity to see yourself surfing, which is the best way for you to understand where and what you can improve.

Class Championship

If there are enough participants in our surf classes we always like to hold a Surfing Championship at the end of the Surf Course week.

Surely, you have already seen it before on television or even live. Have you ever wondered how the professional surfers feel during the competition, our Surf Camp gives you this opportunity!

But most importantly you will learn the rules of how a surf championship works.
