How is the weather?
Sunny, all year around. In the winter(Dec/Feb.) it gets cold (min. 12º) and the sea water might be cold... Don't worry we have plenty of heaters in the house and warm wetsuits.
How is the water temperature?
You need a 3/2 mm wetsuit all year around. In August and September you can surf in shorts sometimes. November to March you might need a 4/3 mm wet suit if you are not used to colder water.
How are the waves?
Surf in Peniche is very good all year around, better in fall, winter and spring; a little bit smaller in summer. Peniche being a peninsula has all kinds of surf working with all kinds of winds. It can get big, but there are plenty of other safe spots sheltered with smaller waves.
How do I get to the surf camp?
We can help you finding a cheap flight to Portugal (Lisbon). Once in Portugal you can get to us by Express Bus from Lisbon centre to PRAIA AREIA BRANCA (bus stop 15 meters from surf house). We can also organize a rental car from Lisbon airport for you (with pickup at the airport) or direct transfers organized by us. Once you book you will received detailed information.

Is the surf equipment included?
Yes, if you book one of our surf camp packages in Peniche . No, you can't take it home after your holidays... (if you pay for it, no problem). You can also bring your own equipment.
Can I buy surf gear or fix my board over there ?
Yes, we have a surf shop and a shaper here
What kind of rooms do you have?
Our Surf House in Areia Branca has 1 single, and several rooms for 3, 4 to 6 people. We can also arrange for accommodation in private apartments
Are your courses also for beginners or people who never surfed before?
Yes, that's why we have a surf school. It's the perfect place to learn how to surf or improve your surfing style.
I want to buy a surf board and/or wetsuit. Do you have something for me?
Yes, we have a surf shop where you can buy new and second hand stuff.
Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
Only if you wish... you don't need to. We provide covers, linen, pillows, towels, etc.

General Info
Electric current
220V, frequency 50 Hertz. Current sockets according to European standards. Blade plugs require a transformer for 220 volts and adapter plug. You come from the UK don't forget to bring an adapter.
Tap water
The tap water is safe to drink throughout the country, but it is a good idea to instead buy some of the delicious bottled water available, especially in high season in the Algarve.
At bus and taxi stops
There are always orderly lines at bus and taxi stops. Be certain to respect them.
Post Offices
(Correio) are mostly open (8) 9 - 12.30 and 14.30 - 18.00, Monday to Friday. Main post offices are open lunchtime and Saturday morning.
