Booking procedures

Please fill out our online pre-booking form. This form in no way constitutes a formal booking, but it helps us to obtain and give you all the necessary information for your surfing holiday in Lisbon. Alternatively you can always email us with your specific query.
In order to confirm your booking and services contracted you agree to pay a deposit (a percentage of the total value of your booking). The remaining balance is to be paid locally upon arrival to the surf camp. Please read our booking terms and conditions.
You can book at any time but best to secure your place well in advance since we do get full, especially in peak seasons.
You can arrive and depart any day of the week and stay for as long as you want!
Yes. If there is availability for the new dates and when requested at least 2 weeks before due arrival date (subject to an admin fee).
We do have discounts available for longer durations. The more surfing you do the cheaper it gets. Also, if you are a regular costumer or a big group we can talk about it .o)
None of our packages include plane tickets.

Accommodation

You can stay in a shared dorm or in a private room. Please read more in our accommodation section.
There are different types of rooms: single, twin, double, triple, quadruple and quintuple.
Check-in is from 15h00 to 20h00. For arrivals after 20h00 there is a late check-in fee of 30 EUR.
Check-out is until 11h00.

If you need to check-in or out outside these times, please contact us and, if possible, we will try to accommodate your request.
Private rooms (single and twin/double) have their own key. For guests staying in shared rooms, there are individual lockers.
Only if you wish... Linen and towel are provided (changed once a week).
Please bring your own beach towel.

Surf Camp & School Lisbon

Yes, all surf equipment is included if you book surf school or a surf camp pack.
Mostly Europeans, but we are happy to say that we have costumers from all around the world. We are an international surf company so we have guests of different nationalities.
Yes! Surf school only closes on Christmas day and New Year's Day.
We are experts in surf tuition for all levels. If you're interested in other activities such as kitesurf, SUP or windsurf we can recommend a specialized outdoor's company.
The surf camp in Lisbon provides beginner surf courses for those who have never surfed before, improvement courses for those above beginner level and intermediate courses for those who have already gone through some surf courses before but want to continue to improve their skills.
It's the perfect place to learn how to surf or just enjoy surfing!
Yes, including Saturday and Sunday.
We proud ourselves of a low ratio of maximum is 8 students per instructor.
Yes, we can arrange for private lessons, but only if there are available instructors.
Please email us to confirm availability.
Typical class duration is 2 hours, including warm up, theory and practice. However, when the tides allow it, we can also offer two surf sessions in one day (2 sessions/day x 2 hour/session = 4 h/day).
Yes, age requirements are as follows:

  • 4 to 8 years old: private surf lessons
  • 9 to 14 years old: children group lessons
  • over 15 years old: adult group lessons
Yes, all clients have to know how to swim. It's important that you have good body resistance, absence of serious respiratory, pulmonary and cardiac illnesses and swimming ability.
They all speak Portuguese and English, some Spanish too.

Location Details

The closest airport to the surf camp is Lisbon (LIS) - approximately 23 km - so that should be your destination airport when searching for flights.
  • Direct transfers:
    Airport transfers are available for an extra fee: 35 to 45 EUR/trip, depending on the day and time of arrival.
  • Public transportation:
    Take the red subway line at Lisbon airport and change to the green line on "Alameda" station.
    Get out at Cais do Sodré station (last station on the green line).
    Take the Cascais Line at Cais do Sodré train station - the train should say "Todas", because that's the one that stops in every station.
    Get out at Caxias station (it's a 25 minutes trip) and you'll be just 5 minutes walking distance from the house!
    Trains run all day & night long and there’s a train at least every 30 minutes.

Weather & Waves

Sunny all year around!
Atlantic/Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot Summers. Great weather all year long with colder and rainy periods during Winter and Spring months (December to April). Temperatures can go as high as 38 ºC in the Summer and drop to 10ºC in Winter, but don't worry, the house has central heating.
You need a 3/2 mm wet suit all year around. In August and September you can surf in shorts most times.
November/ March you might need a 4/3 mm wetsuit if you are not used to colder water (around 15ºC).
There are waves all year round! If you are an intermediate/experienced surfer the best season is from September to April. If you are a beginner, there are always safe sheltered spots even in the peak of winter. Please find more info about Lisbon's waves here.
The best time for a surf trip to Lisbon is from September to April (advanced surfers) although there are waves all year round.
If you are a novice join our surf camp or pick your surf spot carefully as some of the waves are unforgiving, breaking over shallow reefs.

The closest surf spot is Carcavelos, but depending on conditions, you'll also be able to surf other surf spots in Lisbon area, such as Caparica and Guincho.
Every spot has some rips, the sand banks are always changing thus making the rips. But don't worry, you will surf at the safest spots and always under supervision!
If you follow the basic surf ethics and rules concerning the respect for the locals you won´t have any problems.

What to Bring

The majority of the stores accept credit cards such as Visa and Master card but is always useful to have cash in hand. Many small commerce accepts cash only.
Adjust you budget to include tips, tours, meals and drinks outside the camp, souvenirs and other purchases outside your package.
Official currency in Portugal is the Euro.
